Quadra Island Volunteer Fire Department
Welcome to the Quadra Island Fire Dept. Serving the community since 1960.
With two stations specifically located to allow firefighters to arrive at the scene of an emergency as quickly as possible, we have 40 dedicated members who respond 24/7 to protect our community and help those people in their time of need. Our members are trained using the National Fire Protection Agency Standard 1001, and the British Columbia Firefighter Certification Programs as a basis for Officer and Firefighter Training. This has resulted in a well-trained and effective Fire Service Operation.
Investing in a Safer Future: Hall 2 Replacement
Over the past few years the Quadra Island Fire Department has been planning on improving their presence in Heriot Bay by building a new fire hall. The needs of the Quadra Island community and the standards for fire halls have changed significantly since the original hall 2 was built in 1970. The current hall 2 is no longer safe, adequate, or compliant with current standards. To learn more about the Quadra Island Fire Department's plan to replace hall 2 in Heriot Bay, please check out qifirehall2.ca,
